Looking out my window at the powder blue sky above treetops adorned with golden leaves, I watch as a black bird silently drops diagonally across the great blue expanse and lights onto a gold limb.
Ahhhhhhh.
It’s midmorning. Is it because I’m older? Calmer, more content, more patient, more appreciative, that I notice more of these slow, gorgeous moments? The wind causing the trees to tremble and leaves to flicker, sparkling in the sunlight. The sonorous, suggestive sound of a jet, high overhead. The “chink-chink” metallic sound nearby of my radiator pumping out sufficient heat to keep me warm in my drafty, circa 1923 apartment.
It’s all so good, isn’t it?
